Valerie Jalijali- Tugade

2015.

Angel Fields.

An oldie but goodie. even after almost 10 years this 2023 this still feels very current.

Valerie or Val is one of my most unforgettable brides. Partly because of the dress she wanted but also because of her personality. I’ve yet to meet anyone more meticulous. She’s made for the events industry, and I’m glad she was able to pursue a career in events that puts that trait of hers to good use.

She was super hands-on with her wedding, and she had a very specific vision. I’m glad she trusted me even then when I was still starting and didn’t have the same resources and skill set that I have now. Her dress is quite technical to say the least. Every pleat on the bodice is a bias cut silk organza that’s been sewn by hand line by line.

The resulting dress is the stuff of marvel that interestingly has the quality to be both forward but also timeless. I wish to be making more dresses like hers in my career as a bridal designer.
